The Mamafrog Soft Potty Seat is made of 'foam-like' material (polyurethane), not plastic. That is why it is softer and is semi-absorbent. Scrubbing the potty seat takes out its top coating which protects it from absorbing water easily.  

To avoid water stains, clean the surface of the potty seat by gently rubbing it with mild soap diluted in water. Quickly rinse with water and IMMEDIATELY pat dry with a cloth/towel. Hang the potty seat to air dry completely.

Do not leave the potty seat wet and soaked with water. Do not use any abrasive, chlorinated or acidic cleaning products.
